Ah, ihana Stresa

Pääsin elokuun alussa minilomalle Pohjois -Italiaan. Ihana Stresa sijaitsee Lago Maggiorella ja on kaikessa ihanuudessaan juuri täydellinen viikonlopun kestävälle minilomalle. Pieni kaupunki täynnä ravintoloita, kauniita rakennuksia ja rentoa ilmapiiriä. Ainiin, ja tietysti Stresassa on myös hyvä kenkäkauppa ja Isola Bella.

Isola Bella on yksi Stresan edustalla olevasta kolmesta saaresta (Borromean islands), jotka muodostavat Stresan päänähtävyydet. Saarella on barokkiajan palatsi, jonka salit sekä puutarha saavat haukkomaan henkeä.
Kun ajattelen Italiaa, näen itseni huvilan parvekkeella katselemassa auringonlaskua rakkaani kanssa. Isola Bellan puutarha käy tähän romanttiseen mielikuvaan täydellisesti, vaikkakin auringonlaskua siellä emme ehtineet näkemään.

  

Italia ei pettänyt tälläkään reissulla. Mukavat ihmiset, kauniit maisemat ja hyvä sää, ihanaa!

Matkalta mukaan siis tarttui uudet lempikenkäni, ihanat mokkasiinit. Nämä ihanuudet löytyivät Calzoleria Davidistä, joka sijaitsee Stresan keskustassa. Väreissä olisi ollut varaa valita, mutta pohdinnan jälkeen päädyin käytännölliseen ruskeaan. Nahka on ihanan pehmeää, kengät ovat mukavat jalassa ja ne ovat täydelliset Sveitsin kuivaan syyskeliin ja kaiken kukkuraksi kengät ovat Made in Stresa!

 

At the end of August I had the greatest opportunity to visit northern Italy. Lovely Stresa is one of the small towns at Lago Maggiore. Stresa is just perfect place for a weekend getaway. It is small town full of restaurants, beautiful buildings, relaxed atmosphere and of course really nice shoe store and Isola Bella.

Isola Bella is one of the three islands in front of Stresa (Borromean islands), which are the main attractions of the town. There is baroque palace in the island, which salons and garden took my breath away. When I think Italy I imagine myself to the balcony of romantic villa watching how sun slowly sets behind the mountains. Isola Bella’s garden is perfect for that image even though we didn’t catch the sunset.

Italy, it never let you down. Nice people, beautiful nature and lovely weather. Perfect!

From Stresa I bought my new favorite shoes, new moccasins. This pair is from Calzoleria David, which is located right in the middle of the town's center. Only problem was choosing the colour, there were so many options. But finally I decided to go with practical brown. Leather is so soft, the shoes are very conformable, and my new pair is perfect for Swiss’ dry autum. To top it all, they are made in Stresa!
